As you know, seeing as I have been talking about it a lot on the blog lately, I'm currently going through exams. I've pretty much spent the last month studying for them as well. Which is why I feel like it might be appropriate to make this list of the ten things that helped me most when it comes to writing the exams and also preparing for them. For those who have exams in the future, I hope this is helpful. Or maybe you agree with some of these?
1. Family
My family have been living through these exams with me. They ask me how it's going. They spoil me and buy me treats to motivate me to keep studying. They talk me down from mounting stress, and whenever I need a hug they are right there for me. I don't know if I could've seen this through without them!
2. Friends
3. Good Food
4. Yoga and Meditation
5. 10 Min Cardio Workouts
6. Youtube Tutorials
7. Make a Schedule
Time management is essential. You want to have time to study everything you need, but you also want to be able to rest and relax as well. Make a realistic schedule and try your best to stick to it. It will help you so much.
8. A Good Television Series
Re-watch a favourite television series of yours before bed. If the episodes are short (20 minutes long) that's the ideal length. It's a great way to switch off before going to bed, and rest your mind from all the knowledge you're cramming in. I've been watching Baby Daddy.
9. Music
10. Perspective

New Video! My book review of The Rains by Gregg Hurwitz :)

Olivia's Question: What's a recommendation that you would have included on this list?

Good luck with your exams! Music always help me to relax.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, music is the best ;)
DeleteGreat advice about exams. Hope yours have been going well. Youtube is amazing and I thought that was a great tip about watching videos about things you are having trouble understanding. I find it is a good way for me to learn or review things. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
I think they did? Yes, youtube is a wonderful resource open to everyone!
DeleteGood luck with your exams, Olivia. I'm sure you'll be brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips. Sharing this with my teen. :)
Hopefully they will be. And I hope they benefit your teen :)
DeleteGreat tips! I am sure that you will do well on your exams.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole <3
DeleteAll I can say is that I am sooooo glad I'm done with exams as far as I can possibly see! Good luck with your exams!
ReplyDeleteIt must be SO great to be done with them forever!
DeleteCaffeine! I prefer coffee to tea, but will settle for either. I hope exams are coming along well for you. Best of luck and keep us posted on your college process. <3
ReplyDeleteLonna @ FLYLēF
I drink coffee whenever I really need the boost, but I try my best to go without it. Although I do like coffee hehe :D
DeleteThese are all so true. Get a walk outside too. It helps clear the mind and refreshes you. Like a reboot button. ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, dear!
Love this post, btw. The gifs and memes are on point!
Ooh, that's a good point I should have mentioned as well. Fresh air is essential, and a walk is a great way to do it. Hehehe glad you appreciate them ;)
DeleteThe meditation one is so important! I really stressed a lot when going through exams, it was all I could think about! But meditating really helped with that and many other things :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your exams Olivia!!
Lipstick and Mocha
I'm glad you had meditation there to calm you down! I don't know where I would've been without yoga and deep breathing to still my anxieties as well. Thank you, Carla <3
DeleteLovely tips! I wish I could follow most of them but I even have problems sticking to my study schedule. However, I do need music while studying. Soundtracks are perfect for me, unless they are too epic, then my mind wanders lol
ReplyDeleteNot all of these will be able to work for everyone! I am sure you have some things which work for you that I wouldn't even have considered putting on this list. Ahaha, un-epic soundtracks it is :D
DeleteGood tips Olivia.
ReplyDeleteHope your exams go well and you get into a decent uni. Which ones have you applied for?
I find studying with friends a great way to help me remember the main points.
Dinh @Arlene's Book Club
I applied to universities in England, the University of Warwick and East Anglia being my top two choices :) Studying with friends is so good, especially to cover bases you might be weaker on and they stronger. (If you stay focused, that is!) ^.^
Delete(I now have a random urge to find a video about how to talk to a giraffe. I'm going to try to resist. But it's totally your fault.) ;)
ReplyDeleteWho knows, maybe your giraffe talking skills will turn out to be wonderful after you find one :D
DeleteGood luck with your exams, unless they are over now, then I hope you did well. These are all great tips, especially the ones about exercising!
ReplyDelete-lauren
They're over now and I think they went okay! Thank you x
DeleteI'm so glad I don't have exams to worry about anymore lol. But yeah, time management is a must! And learning good study methods too. And of course the perspective, trying not to let it stress you out so much that it drives you crazy.
ReplyDeleteI have The Rains, looking forward to reading it! Glad to hear it was good, sometimes action-packed is exactly the type of book you need!
It must be relieving to have those all over, pretty much forever. Time management is one of the most vital things, and once you have it down, I feel like everything else comes easier. Even perspective.
DeleteOoh, I loved the Rains! I hope you enjoy it too :D
