Good morning everyone!
My Hoarding Catastrophe is a monthly meme here on Olivia's Catastrophe which is a book haul. I'll be showing you all the books I've received in the past month.
Physical Books:
I've been a very good girl when it comes to book buying again. I only bought one of the books in this pile. It's also a book I've already read and reviewed on my kindle. But I loved it so much - it's one of my favourite standalones - that I wanted to buy a physical, hardcover edition.
I also received three of the BEST books as presents! Thanks so much Lekeisha for Stars Above and Americanah! And a friend got me a sequel to a novel I really loved as well :)
Fallen Angel by Helen Raven (For Review)
A Moveable Feast by Ernst Hemingway (Won in a giveaway from @ thenobbylife)
Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Gifted by @ Lekeisha the Bookworm)
The Good Daughter by Alexandra Burt (Won in a giveaway from @ sobookinggood)
Hellworld by Tom Leveen (For Review)
The Golem's Eye by Jonathan Stroud (Gifted by a friend)
Private Reserve by Diana Sobolewski (For Review)
Bought: I bought an ebook. To be fair, it is a novella and only 30 pages long or so :D
Freebies: Just a few...
Shearwater by Derek Murphy
The Mirror and the Maze by Renne Ahdieh
The Surfer Solution by Cathy Yardley
Sweeter than Wine by Cathy Yardley
Review Copies: Okay... here there are quite a few. For starters, Edelweiss decided to quit telling me when I was accepted for review copies for a while. I didn't realise until this month, so some of these are from a while ago. Also... when you're favourite publishers (like Harper, for example) grant you unlimited access to any of their ebooks for review. Well... that was never going to end well for me :P
God and Starbucks by Vin Baker
Do Not Become Alarmed by Maile Meloy
The Jewish Wedding Now by Anita Diamant
A New Model by Ashley Graham
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman
Venturess by Betsy Cornwell
The Make Believe Husband by Julia Quinn
Invisible No More by Andrea J. Ritchie
The Wonder of Us by Kim Culberston
The Fold by An Na
Chasing Days by Deirdre Riordan Hall
Things That Happened Before The Earthquake by Chiara Barzini
Impossible Views of the World by Lucy Ives
Stone Cold Past - Shea Berkley
Love Story - Karen Kingsbury
Monstrous - Thomas E. Sniegoski
Hunger - Roxane Gay

Olivia's Question: What new books have you recently bought/acquired?
Olivia-Savannah x

Wow, so many books Olivia! I need to catch up with my TBR shelf so no new books for me.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've been making a dent in my TBR but that might just be my imagination...
DeleteSo many great books! I see Stars Above with your physical book haul. I don't know how after all this time I still haven't purchased that one. I want to read it so badly! <3
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read it! I love the Lunar Chronicles too much. I hope you can buy it soon ;)
DeleteWishful thinking. 😂
DeleteSo great that your fav published gave you unlimited access to books to review. That must be so tempting. In addition, it seems you won some lovely books...and you were gifted some nice books too. So cool you own The Golem's Eye now. It is such a great novel! I really enjoyed it, despite the fact that is it YA.
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't buy any books this month. I'm in the process of moving...and it made me realize that I already own so many books! Basically I've been avoiding buying new books for a while. I need to organize all of my books first and then I can get busy shopping again:).
It is very tempting. I actually caved again today xD I read the first book in that series so I am so looking forward to reading the second one soon! I am glad you loved it when you read it. It gives me high hopes.
DeleteAh moving puts a lot of things in perspective in terms of what we own! Hopefully you've got some good reads already to last you a while ;)
*FAINT* ('Nuff said.) ;)
ReplyDeleteHehehe :D
DeleteHa ha. Well, I haven't bought any for a couple of weeks now, so I'm on a good streak. I hope you'll enjoy these, Olivia.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Someone is being good ^.^ I hope it holds out!
DeleteBesides Americanah, A Moveable Feast & Stars Above I haven't heard of the others. I acquired quite a few books this month and I should upload a bookhaul soon. I wanted to keep the book buying to a minimun but when I'm stressed book shopping helps and I have no will power whatsoever
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing that book haul whenever you end up posting it. And when stressed, you should do anything that calms you a bit :)
DeleteThat's a lot of books! Hope you enjoy reading them all! I haven't bought any books recently unfortunately :(
ReplyDeleteThank you! And no new books doesn't mean nothing new to read though ;)
DeleteThat's heaps! I'll follow on and watch your reviews on Snapchat :)
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you <3
DeleteYou've got a great range of books there and so many of them have such amazing covers.
ReplyDeleteYes ^^ I am looking forward to reading them all!
DeleteOnly one book and only because you loved it so much you wanted a physical copy? You definitely are doing good on your book buying ban! That's awesome you got such great books as gifts, and some of your review copies look great too!
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel very obedient at the moment. And yay for new reading material :D
DeleteI would love to read the Ashley Graham book, she is an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about her, so I wanted to read it to learn more!
DeleteWhat a nice pile of books! Isn't Lekeisha awesome? It was really nice of her to gift you some great books. I hope you enjoy all of these. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLekeisha is definitely the best <3 I love her to pieces!
DeleteLots of books! I haven't read any of them- but I always love o hear about new book. The cover of Venturess has me quite intrigued. I will have to keep an eye out for it. Happy reading!
ReplyDelete~Jess
Venturess is very steampunkish and retelling like! I am looking forward to reading it :)
DeleteGood haul. Nothing like a stack of books to...well nothing like a stack of books. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThat's very true. A stack of books is all I need <3
DeleteI'm such a hoarder as well. I keep buying books even though I have so many sitting to read at my house I'll never read all of them. But when I see it, or hear about it, I have to have it!
ReplyDeleteI feel the hoarder feels. There is no escaping from it :P
DeleteI'm also a huge book hoarder and keep adding to my keeper shelves!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm not the only one ;)
DeleteI see you've lived multiple lives, been to different worlds, and met awesome people. Books are amazing! And wow, you've got loads of them.
ReplyDeleteBooks really do hold all that magic inside of them. You can never have too much magic ;)
DeleteDo you actually review all your review copies Liv? I've been wondering this with a lot of book bloggers - everyone has loads of review copies, and I'm like - but, how are you reviewing all these?! Lol! :)
ReplyDeleteI try to! But remember I don't just review on my blog - also my bookstagram and booktube as well. (Bookstagram is where the majority of my reviews go.)
DeleteYou're welcome for the books! I have review copies from invites, so I haven't requested a book on NG in a long time. I can't evenn remember the last time that I requested one on EW. Mostly, I've been buying the ones I want to read.
ReplyDeleteYou've been doing good with not requesting for a long time! You've been balancing when it comes to book buying a lot. And thank you so much <3
DeleteLots of ebooks I recieved, haven't read them yet but mystery, science fiction, and romance are the genres.
ReplyDeleteThose sound like some cool genres! I hope you enjoy them as you read them ^.^
DeleteFor the most part I'm auto-approved on Edelweiss, so I can just click and download it when I want to read it. I make sure though that I only download ones I know I'm going to read. I also look at the dates they will expire, so that if it is like only 60 days, I will wait until closer to when I want to read it to download. But I know what you're saying, I have a bunch I should get to at some point!
ReplyDeleteYeah it can be so difficult to pick and choose :/ But those are some good conditions to stick to when it comes to being auto-approved... I am gonna work on applying those to myself as well!
DeleteSome of these look so good! I haven't been on Edelweiss for a few days, maybe I should check out what's new!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing Olivia!! Happy reading :D
Lipstick and Mocha
There's always something new there, and that makes me wonder if it is a blessing or a curse :P Thanks Carla!
