This weeks bloggers do it better topic is supposed to be about collections. BUT I already did collections at some point for the 2014 Blogger challenge, so I decided I would be more specific, and pull out another CD from my music collection and review it! This time I have chose Halcyon Days by Ellie Goulding. This was her CD that made me really start to love her music. I've pulled out favourites of mine and said why ^.^
Even though this song has so few words in the two verses it does have, I love it. The background music is awesome and this already clearly portrays Ellie's unique singing style. I can't really discern a message to the song; its more so the sounds alone that matter.

This was the first Ellie Goulding song I heard, and the first one that drew me in. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. I do liek techno music, and this has a little bit of that essence in it. Great song ;)
Definition: Reminiscing in a time of the past that was happy and peaceful. I put the definition there because for a long time I was clueless about it myself xD This song is about a breaking relationship that used to better, used to be happy and great. Knowing the meaning of the title was very useful ;)
Now, you'll only like this if you don't mind high pitch singing. Ellie Goulding sure does a good job of it, and hits every note. But this song really depends on what you do and do not like.
This was absolutely my favourite song from Ellie Goulding, and my absolutely favourite song on this album! I think she sings it beautifully, and the layering and tone in her voice is pitch perfect. Then she also has these amazing lyrics and instruments and ah. Whenever she says 'loved' my heart melts.
A peaceful, still song. I can just picture someone suspende
d there, lying lost in the water. Beautiful
d there, lying lost in the water. Beautiful
Who doesn't love this song?
I love it... more because it is fun to say goodness gracious than anything else :D But still, this is awesome!
Great to run or cycle to.
A beautiful, sweet, romantic song, which is absolutely perfect. A little too short for my liking...
Worthy mentions: Hearts without chains and You my Everything.
Olivia's Question: Do you listen to Ellie Goulding? Which is your favourite track?

Ooh I spy a new blog! Oh wow, I hope she was good!
DeleteI'm so with you there for explosions as my favourite song by Ellie Goulding and 'love' is just beautifully sang. It seems you wrote this in a hurry, there are some mistakes, which are fine, but song titles should always be written out right so maybe you should change good gracious to goodness gracious. There were some short introductions, which I thought were fine but on Burn when you said: 'Who wouldn't love this song?'' maybe we could've had a little bit more detail there.
ReplyDeleteHm, yes I think I did write it in a hurry. I didn't want to elaborate too much on Burn because it's really popular and most people have heard it already. I wanted to point out the lesser known ones.
