Good morning!
My travels is a meme here on Olivia's Catastrophe where I talk about my trips and the countries I have visited.
Today I want to talk about my trip to London. You may or may not know that I am actually from London as well. But whenever we go home to visit, it's always to see and spend time with family. And although I did spend time with family when I went back this time, I did pretend to be a tourist a little as well. So I wanted to share with you :) We didn't do too much, but I have a few photos.
The first day, as soon as I got off the plane, my sister and I went to Big Ben and the London Eye. It was a bit chaotic because there are always a lot of people around, and I was also hauling my massive suitcase behind me. But we managed. And even though I have been to these two places before, it was nice to see them again and marvel at their splendor. We didn't ride the Eye, but I've ridden it more than twice, so there wasn't really any need to do it again.
| I guess you can see where the photo of me in the meme banner I made comes from now :D |
And we can't forget the man who practically sparkled with glitter, and let my sister and I take a cool selfie with him. He was the best :D
On my first night there we went to Vapiano's for dinner. I've been to the one in the Netherlands as well, but it was nice to be there with my sister. I tried a new pasta dish and it was delicious. Oh, and of course, as usual when going to England, there was a meal in Nandos with my cousin. It's pretty much my favourite place to eat - and why it is only in England I have no idea. It would be successful worldwide, if you ask me!
All in all, a very good trip! Even though London is busy and crazy sometimes, it can be beautiful and peaceful. I had a brilliant time exploring with my sister, and can't wait to go back. I was sad that we didn't get the chance to go visit home in the Christmas holiday, but here's to the next one :)
If you want to follow my travels as they happen, make sure to add me on snapchat!
Olivia's Question: Have you ever been to London or would like to go? What was your favourite tourist site there?
Olivia-Savannah x

I'm from Dublin but I live in Lucknow, India. I can't imagine returning to my city as a visitor, because it's home. Nice to meet you and am enjoying your blog.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was strange because it's home, but it was nice to get to know home better :)
DeleteSo lucky! I'd love to visit London some day. Gorgeous pics, gorgeous subjects. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joy! I hope you get to go someday <3
DeleteThat's great that you were able to visit home. How does it feel going home and doing touristy things?
ReplyDeleteIt felt a bit strange but I quite liked it actually! I got to see how other people see my home when they come to visit ^.^
DeleteUnfortunately, I haven't been to London. One day...
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get to go someday <3
DeleteI LOVE London! It's been over a decade since I was there, but I loved it. My fave site was standing in line for The Queen's tea party. I mean, I didn't get in, nor did I even mean to stand in that line, but discovering (by a red-haired bobby telling me) that I stood in the wrong line was one of the most hilarious things I've ever done ;)
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you were able to love it when you were there! It sounds like you had a real laugh there as well ;)
DeleteThis looks like such a fun city to visit! I love all of your photos and the bubbles look like a lot of fun. I am glad you enjoyed your trip.
ReplyDeleteI always love big bubbles! It was a nice time :D
DeleteI've always wanted to go to London, ever since I was a little girl. *cries*
ReplyDeleteIf you don't go soon, I'll make sure to drag you over with me at some point <3
DeleteI remember your Snap chat updates. I hope I will get to visit London. It feels like an amazing place.
ReplyDeleteHehehe <3 I think you would like it, especially all the nice food there!
DeleteAs you know I am an ex-pat, so I have been to London many times. I was just there over Xmas. I mainly saw family and didn't do sight seeing this time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fantastic time with your sister doing the sights! Did you get a chance to visit any of the museums? I love the Natural History Museum :)
Yeah, seeing family is mostly what I usually end up doing the majority of the time there as well. We didn't do museums though, because we have done those a lot in the past! The Natural History Museum is one of my favourites ^.^
DeleteUgh that looks so awesome!!! Those bubbles are seriously so cool! I would love to go to London one day, it's on my bucket list! Also, those food pictures made me hungry XD
ReplyDeleteI hope you do get to go in the future sometime! Hehe, food is one of the main attractions while traveling :)
DeleteLOVE your photos! I was in London once, but only for two days. And it (shockingly) rained the whole time haha. I REALLY want to go back, and have a lot more time to explore the city, I really enjoyed the bits I was able to see! So glad you had such a nice time, too! (Sidenote: I am now starving, and craving the hell out of a mango smoothie ;) )
ReplyDeleteThe rain comes pretty often, I have to admit! I hope you do get to go back and do some more exploring though :D It was really good and YAS get a mango smoothie. Mango smoothies are the best :)
DeleteThank you for playing the tourist for us. I loved this post and you are cute in your pretty white dress. Yes, I know very well London I studied there before coming here to finish my studies. I lived near Hampton Court. So I would say that HC and the villages near London are dear to my heart.
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you :D Ah, you must know it very well then. I hope London was good to you while you lived there!
DeleteIt was wonderful :)
DeleteLove London, but only in small doses. More than a weekend blows my mind - so busy! My OH's daughter lives in Tulse Hill though and I love that she takes us to Brixton Market and to the cute Ritzy Cinema :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty busy place so I can see how it can get overwhelming at times! That sounds cosy :3
