Hoarding Catastrophe: So Many Books, So Little Time

I hope you will all have a wonderful weekend this week!

When it came to my Hoarding Catastrophe, I wanted to have been able to claim I bought fewer books and that my haul for this month was smaller than ever. And it had been like that... until last week when I suddenly acquired all the books. That aside, I still believe I received fewer books then usual. So here we go!

Bookish Things: My ploy for this month was to spend money buying bookish merchandise and bookish things instead of actual books. It didn't really work because this time round I just bought both >.> I really love this new necklace though!

The books: I am not sure how many have noticed but in an attempt to buy fewer books I have been getting graphic novels quite a lot. Well, my sister is superhero crazy and she must be infecting me a bit because I got there four comics this month as well! I also got some lovely books. I have already read The Maze Runner series but I love them so much, so I wanted to own them and do a reread. I also am almost finished reading Clockwork Angel so I got the rest of the series!

The Kill Order - James Dashner
The Maze Runner - James Dashner
The Scorch Trials - James Dashner
The Death Cure - James Dashner
Delirium - Lauren Oliver
Welcome, Reluctant Stranger - E. Journey
Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare
Clockwork Angel - Cassandra Clare
Sally's Candy Addiction - Sally McKenney

Freebie! I only got one of these. This mystery looked too good to pass up.

52 Steps to Murder - Steve Demaree

Review Copies! This is the fewest amount of review copies I have gotten for a month in a while! Which makes me feel quite happy. 3 of the eight are graphic novels as well, which means I will race through them. So even though my physical haul was pretty big, my ebook one was much smaller than usual.

Inconceivable - Tegan Wren
Angelus - Sabrina Benulis
Daughters of Ruin - K. D. Castner
The Way I Used to Be - Amber Smith
Draw the Line - Laurent Linn
Frankenstein Underground - Mike Mignola
Sherlock Holmes and the Necronomicon - Sylvain Cordurie
The Bathory Curse - Renee Lake

Olivia's Question: What books have you recently bought?

  2. Frankenstein Underground looks amazing! I got better at not buying a lot of books. When I was around your age I was buying tons of books - and I didn't even had a book blog, but now I guess I have rent to pay? I also realized that I want to read my books so I am thinking more about what I buy. This does not apply to e-books though. It's chaos there! Recently I got 1984 and Anne Frank's Diary. I am really excited to read both!

    1. I know what you mean about having other responsibilities that you have to pay for and all that! I probably will hit that at some point as well, but until now, I am drowning in books :P I have read both of those two books and I really liked them. I hope you can as well x

  3. I love graphic novels, they are fast reads :) The necklace is so adorable! I have been trying all week to go to the used bookstore, but its always closed when I go by...so I haven't bought any in a good while! (Of course then the book depository sends me a coupon and we will see.. hehe)

  4. Oh, I am curious about The Bathory Curse! Real Bathory lived in the country I come from (Slovakia) so I heard plenty of legends about her and I have always been fascinated by her story :)

    1. Thanks Citra! I actually just finished Inconceivable and will be reviewing it on Tuesday. It was a perfect book <3 It's hard, because you itch to get something and tell yourself no. Or in my case, you give in to the temptation xD

  16. Graphic novels = endless love. Although I'm actually a bigger fan of manga, but seeing more people in my blogsphere pick up GNs is really nice, too. Comics are really more from my younger days, although I do read a couple now. Mostly they don't suit my reading tastes, though.
I buy so few books! I guess it's really good, actually. I utilise my library and get enough review copies that between those two I hardly have time to read anything else, but mostly I ask for books at birthdays and christmas and occasionally get them as gifts between times- with my money, though, I don't tend to spend it on books. I'm a big saver!

    1. I have one or two manga but it is incredibly hard to find where I am, so maybe I will get more into that if I ever move. But I do like GNs :D And it's good that you don't buy too many and save your money efficiently!

I'm not much of a graphic novel reader, but I tried a few for the reading challenge and I really enjoyed it.
52 steps to Murder looks really interesting, and I love the cover of The Bathory Curse. It's so clean. I look forward to see your reviews of them!

  22. Personally, I don't think you can ever have too many books or bookish things(still trying to get books & bookish things as presents). Love the necklace. It reminds me of a bookish charm bracelet I saw on Twitter once. I really wanted to buy it.

  23. I love that necklace! It is adorable. :) I love graphic novels, so my last purchase falls in that category. I am trying to hold off buying any books until Christmas- but I don't think I will make it that long.
