Book Haul #3 - Box Sets, Scruffy books and Too Many Freebies

Hello there everyone!

Time for another book haul! I was very excited for the box set that came through in this one, I won a couple, scored some freebies and got a lovely scruffy book. More explanations to come! Here we go:

Ebook Freebies:

When I saw the complete Nick Stephenson series was free I knew I had to get it. As for The Yellow Wall-Paper I had heard about the story and it seemed interesting. Plus this review @ The Book of Jules made me want to try it. The others were impulsive. But free :3

Ebooks for review:

I am most excited for In A World Just Right! And I have Dissonance so once I read that I can go straight on to Resonance.

Giveaway Wins:

| The Princess Spy won @ Wonderous Reviews | The Broken Destiny @ Enchanted by YA | Forbidden @ 2 Booklovers Reviews | More Than Magic and Mostly Magic @ Read What I Like |

Print books!

| Florence by Ciye Cho (for review) | How to Exercise won @ Kara *the* Redhead | Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper (Already read this, but loved it so I wanted my own copy!) | Broken Dreams by Nancy Pennick (for review) | Where Madmen Rule by Eugene Hayman (for review) |

This box set of the Game of Thrones series is from my much loved older sisters! Thank you so much for these, I can't wait to read them. In fact, I've already read A Game of Thrones.

This was from a friend. It's The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud. It's a scruffy, old, much loved copy and I kinda love how read it is. Isn't there something lovely about a book that has been reread multiple times and is slightly yellowing at the edges?

Sometimes authors can be really cool people. I was expecting a book to review but I didn't expect all the swag that came with it! Thanks so much, Nancy ^.^ Check out my review of her book Waiting for Dusk, and look forward to seeing Broken Dreams in the future!

That's all the books I have acquired in the past month! Thanks for staying with me this long, and till next time.

Olivia's Question: What books have you recently received?

  4. What a fabulous book haul!! :) I look forward to your reviews for most all of them. I've recently received an ARC -- The Stranger by Harlan Coben (my one and only favorite author!). I've started it and can say I don't think I'll be disappointed. I've also received and will be reviewing soon: The Reluctant Midwife by Patricia Harman and Nashville Mercy by M. Maitland DeLand. There's a few more, but I'll stop there. :)

  12. Wow. You got a lot of books. I tried reading the GoT once but I couldn't get into it. I think I've been spoiled by the tv show. The Geek Girl series looks like such fun reads. I've been seeing them pop up everywhere. I really need to check them out. I've heard good things about them.

  13. I've just received my mother's day present from my daughter a copy of The Gift of Rain by Tan Twan Eng, it is set in Penang in 1939. My mother is from Malaysia, so I'm interested to read some literature set in the Far East. This particular book particularly appeals to me as it is about a sixteen year old, half, English, half Chinese boy who strikes up a friendship with a Japanese diplomat who trains him in art and aikido, a Japanese martial art.
